A scale or mode name in another language, with or without a root: the name of findScalesForNotes and scale of getSuggestedScales ('D dorian'), or the sourceMode of getBorrowedChords and borrowedFrom of analyzeProgression ('harmonic minor'). Names without a translation (hirajoshi, pelog, freygish…) are kept. Roots are in solfège in Spanish and in letters in English unless roots says otherwise.
